Howlin' Gale Dragon's Care Sheet (C)
By: Nicole Norton (C)

Size
Bearded Dragons range from as small as 16 inches to 24 inches and sometimes larger though your average bearded dragon will be between 18"-22". Bearded dragons weigh anywhere from 300 Grams to 1,000 grams but the average weight of a bearded dragon is 300-600 Grams.

Feeding

Bearded Dragons need a variety of food ranging from live feeder incest to veggies and fruit, some of the staple feeding insects are Crickets, Horn Worms, Super worms, Phoenix worms, and Wax Worms. Several staple Veggies are Kale, Mustard Greens, Escarole, Endive, Turnip Greens, Dandelion Greens, and Squash. I feed my adult dragons a 70% Veggie diet and 30% Insect diet while babies and growing juvies get a 70% Insect diet and 30% Veggie diet due to their larger need for protein while in this growing stage. When a female is gravid I prefer to feed them Horn Worms but before and the week after laying eggs I will feed my females small Pinky mice the calcium in the soft bones of these baby mice are very pure and readily absorbed by the dragons body. The best way to tell what size of Cricket or any live feeder you should give your dragon is by making sure it fits between their eyes over the top of their head, this is a great rule of thumb that can prevent you from having to deal with choking or Impaction.

Supplements
All of my dragons receive vitamins to help ensure the proper growth and health several vitamins I highly recommend for use in bearded dragons is Calcium with Vitamin D, Vitamin B Complex, and a Multi Vitamin all of this can be found and purchased threw http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/home.html
